The biggest I’ve ever seen/been a part of was around $ 250 USD. Told them it was going take 80 minutes.

WTF? All we have is a shitty tablet for DD orders. Are you screen only? Or do you get printed tickets as well.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but Door Dash ruined this industry.

Thats a fucking catering order, not something that should be allowed to be placed last minute. An extra level of stress for an already stressful industry with zero extra compensation to the people preparing the food.

    Fuck Doordash/Ubereats.

That person is either way too high, way too drunk, made a typo in the quantity without somehow noticing, didn’t want to pay the extra cost for actual catering for a party or something, or some mix of these.

A couple months back, we had a group of 15 come in on a Friday night looking for a table. We were fully booked and the rush was just ending. Told them It would likely be a good bit of time before we’d be able to seat them, so they got all shitty about it and left (much to our relief). Not 10 minutes later, I had a ticket of 15 burgers, fries, and 30 sides of ranch come in with DD. Turns out they seemingly went back to their Airbnb (were a tourist town) and fucked us right as the last table (a 12 top) was rang in. Driver who picked it up was a cocksucker who couldn’t understand why we couldn’t have 15 double pattied smash burgers and fries ready in 20 minutes on a packed to the gills Friday night where it’s standing room only. I resent DoorDash, and I hate that the owner forced us to be on there.

not gonna lie…. doesnt sound that bad assuming you arent cooking to tenp and just smashing burgers? thats almost 1k free dollars

Yeah canceling that order. Not doing that shit with no call ahead and off a fucking delivery app no less.

Hey to everyone saying DoorDash or whatever shouldn’t allow this, it technically only allows this if the restaurant doesn’t set their own limit, which you can do as a restaurant owner. You can also add limits to how much of one item can be ordered a day (like if it’s something really prep intensive and you’d rather keep a good amount on hand for dine in customers) or just 86 those particular items. Still hate DoorDash and all that but blaming DoorDash for this is like blaming the reservation book for having a 500 top on the books and you only seat 200 or smth. It’s the business’s fault for not configuring their reservation software or managing their own books properly, not the software’s fault.
